Valen is, fortunately, inside for the moment though he's still sitting by a rather large window. He notices Locke quickly enough, and raises a hand in greeting. He's pleased to see Locke, but then he doesn't know yet what Locke's gotten himself into.

Locke looks relieved to see Valen and heads in his direction with a grin and a wave back. "Hey - you don't happen to have a rapier on you, do you?"

Valen looks startled, then laughs. "A rapier? No, why would I have a rapier." Pause. "Why do you need a rapier?"

"Dammit," Locke says with a scowl. "Well. I'll have to find one some - oh. Right. That's the other question - would you be my witness for a duel this evening?"
