It didn't occur to me until yesterday, but many people don't know what a real man is.
Many people think that a real man doesn't wear pink, doesn't cross his legs, or listen to pop music. A real man wears black, sits with his legs half-crossed or normal, and listens to hard rock. I've got a newsflash for people: these traits don't constitute what a real man is.
A real man is one who sticks up for the little guy, speaks for those who can't, helps those who need help, and always looks for an opportunity to stand up for the right thing. A real man isn't always nice, he's godly. He's always humble and willing to stand up for what is right, not what is popular.
David was a real man, but Jesus was the first real man. He wasn't always nice to people (Matthew 23), but stood for what was right. He stood up for the woman when she was caught in adultery (John 8), even when the popular thing would be to stone her. He came to eat with the scum of society (Luke 15:1), not with the most popular people.
One can wear all-pink, listen to pop music, cross his legs, and be more of a man than someone who dresses in all black and listens to hard rock.
