I'm glad it helped! I am always glad to steer people away from making dubious alcoholic decisions. Unless I'm there to watch and take pictures; then be as dubious as you please. Heh.

Yeah, I mean, I know people do drink straight, room temp vodka if they want to get drunk really fast, or just cut it with something to make it a little more palatable like orange juice or soda. There's a reason vodka is such a great mixer.

But if you actually want to enjoy drinking vodka (if you can get your hands on decent vodka; the vodka up there in my freezer is okayish but pretty standard), the best way is... well, the Russian way. Sip it, ice cold, while eating little bites of other things. Don't chug it straight at room temp. Ugh.

Well, it depends on the character, y'know? Some people are going to know how to drink alcohol properly, and some people aren't, so it makes sense that they're chugging ass-grade tequila or whatever. You just gotta figure out what kind of drinker they're realistically likely to be, and then do your research. hands-on research, heh.

It's better cold, believe me. Warm booze-- well, if you're going for straight up alcohol, hot mulled wine is amazingly awesome, and sake is something that has all kinds of temp-stuff related to it-- I love certain warm sake. And you can make a ton of hot sweet drinks, like hot chocolate with booze in it. But those are mostly mixed drinks.

I like mead cold, but that's a personal preference, and it also depends on the mead-- if there are flavors added, how sweet it is, how much it's been aged.

Makes sense. I've always wanted to visit the desert at some point.

Cool, thanks! (Have you ever read "Desert Solitaire" by Edward Abbey? You might like it.)

It's nonfiction, but I find it fantastic. Edward Abbey was kind of an asshole, but a good writer.

My only experience is with copperheads, sadly enough.

Eh, they can be, but if you get antidote fast enough, I think you're okay. And they're not really markedly aggressive. The ones I ran into were mostly in the spring when they were still sluggish,
