General

Character Name: Briar Moss
Species (human/alien/vampire/other?): human
Extra-human/abnormal abilities, if any?: ambient magic with plants; see powers section.

Psychology

1. Is it okay for your character's thoughts to be read/their mind to be probed?
Yes, but please discuss with me as depending on circumstances he may be able to sense and shut them out.

2. Is it okay for any of your character’s intense/distressing memories to be seen/heard/read in this situation?
Again, I'm pretty easygoing as long as I get a heads-up. Briar won't be happy about anyone seeing these, but I'm willing.

3. What kind of mind does your character have? Are they disturbed at all? Are their thoughts ordered or jumbled?
His thoughts are fairly ordered through a background in meditation and controlling magical power. Currently, they are less so than is the norm. His mind and magic are a bit of a mess right now, and he is suffering from PTSD. Meditation, time, and perspective should help to remedy the situation.

4. Is it okay for your character’s emotions to be sensed?
Yes.

5. Does your character have a weak or strong mind? Are they susceptible to influence or hypnotism?
Briar has a strong mind; he's been trained in meditation and managing his own power, and he's very stubborn. It would have to be fairly subtle for him or those around him not to notice.

6. Does your character have supernatural/mental fortification against mind-reading or telepathic communication?
He has basic fortification, as he has a background in meditation and in mental communication with his foster sisters. It can certainly be worked around, just please give me a heads up.

7. In the case of characters who are extra-sentient/psychic and can just 'know' things about people, can the muns of these characters use the powers of Wikipedia to get information about your character?
Yes. (I'd recommend the Tamora Pierce wiki page here as opposed to regular Wikipedia.)

8. If so, is there anything that should absolutely never ever be brought up?
Heads up to me before bringing up major things like his experiences in the war or his trip into death to save his teacher's life.

9. Anything that should absolutely be brought up?
Nothing in mind at the moment.

10. Will thoughts in the narration be up for grabs? If so, how will you indicate these? Italics/strikes/something else?
Yes. Italics are typically my default, and if they are directed at someone in particular (namely, if we get any of his sisters here), I would like it to be cleared with the other mun as well before doing so.

11. Does your character have any fears/phobias that you wouldn't mind being exploited? Ones that you'd like to NOT be exploited?
Temple or church bells may cause nightmares and flashbacks. I'm fine with this trigger occurring in game, but Briar will not willingly live near the sounds for long. He would move to a different location.

Physiology

1. Is it okay for your character to be affected by chemical agents? Fear toxins, for example?
Yes, but only if they are non-plant-based. Briar will be able to identify plants used and even if he didn't, he is less susceptible to their effects.

2. Does your character have any unique biological difference that would affect their resistance to toxins/chemical substances?
See above.

3. Does your character have any notable genetic/supernatural/biological difference that would make their blood in any way different to a regular baseline human's (that would make them taste different if they were fed on by a vampire, for example)?
Nope. Not unless they can taste his magic.

Physical

1. How okay are you with your character coming to physical harm?
I don't want any bedridden for a month type injuries, but I'm pretty okay with a sprain, broken bone, burn, or laceration here or there. No prolonged torture sessions.

2. How okay are you with your character's home/possessions being targeted by bad guys?
Definitely okay, but know that the plants may warn him and/or wrap you up for him to deal with. Discuss with me re: logistics.

3. Can your character be impacted by telekinesis?
Yes.

4. With regard to vampires, would your character be willing to be a donor?
Definitely not right away. Probably if he had a basis of friendship with the vampire ahead of time.

5. If no, then how about unwilling?
Again, warnings, explanations, and friendship are necessary, otherwise he will see it as an attack and react accordingly.

6. With regard to shapeshifters, are you okay with having those with this power taking the shape of your character?
I am. Briar's not, but who said we were consulting him?

7. If your character has any superhuman abilities, would you be okay with these being replicated by those who have the power to absorb/take on the powers of others?
Depends on whether we're talking short term replication or long term replication. Short term, absolutely. Long term, discuss with me.

8. In a physical confrontation, is it okay if characters who have the power to sense/foresee/predict movements use this to their advantage against your character?
Yep. I'll probably want to chat about the extent of the advantage and reasonable outcomes, but it's definitely okay with me.

9. Are you willing to participate in plots where your character will sustain damage outside of a fight, such as in situations with torture, environmental hazards, or accidents?
Prolonged torture is not something I'm interested in writing. Environmental hazards or accidents are certainly fine by me though.

10. Is there anything about them that would stand out noticeably (things like scars, physical augmentations, illness, anomalies, etc.) if they were ever injured or otherwise examined by a doctor? Are any of these things noticeable to others without close inspection?
His most out-of-the-ordinary physical traits are the scars on his palm from a rose vine and the lurid flower and vine tattoos covering his hands and wrists. Anyone who glances at his hands will see them.

Magics

1. Can your character be influenced and tempted by magical or supernatural means?
Yes, but if it's by magic, I'd like to discuss cross-canon magic correlation. Briar can see/sense magic as it functions in his own world, so the difficulty of doing so would probably depend on how similar or different the power is to what he knows.

2. If yes, will someone with the ability be able to find this out about them, and in what areas (think the seven deadly sins) can your character be tempted?
...I'll get back to this question.

3. Could your character be glamoured (a form of mind control employed by vampires to make humans compliant/alter their memories etc.)?
Quite probably. Briar may have a just little more resistance than the average human, and I also want to discuss specifics if it's going to happen in game.

4. Can your character be affected by spells of any kind, and are there any specific types to which they would be immune?
He can definitely be affected by spells. I can't think of any specific immunities right now, but depending on how similar the magic is to magic in his own world, Briar may be able to see or sense it happening and attempt to fight it.

5. Can your character's presence be sensed by characters with the power to read auras/pick up generalized vibes from people?
Yes.

6. If yes, what kind of stand-out things about your character can be sensed?
Probably a sense of green and growing things. I shall double check canon descriptions and get back to this with a more specific answer.

7. With regard to characters that can sense danger/receive visions/predict general doom, are you okay with your character being the subject of any of this, if the occasion arises?
Absolutely.

Privacy

1. Will your character change their name as it is shown on the map? If so, what will they change it to?
Briar chose his own name, and he'll stay Briar Moss.

2. If they’re able, will they ever opt to hide their location on the map?
Probably some of the time at least; Briar's a former thief and recently spent time in a war zone. Even if he is as reformed as he says, the ability to move unnoticed is a part of Briar's habits and comforts.

3. If your character is from an earlier point in their canon than another member of your cast, what is and is not okay for your fellow castmate to spill the beans about regarding your character’s future?
Not expecting any issues with this, but give me a heads up and I'm cool with 'most anything.

4. With regard to characters that like to snoop, can they find anything that's been publicly said by your character through the tablets?
Of course.

5. How about privately?
A heads up would be nice, but in almost all cases, yes.

6. Is there anything you'd especially like to be known about your character, for the purposes of amusement?
Nothing I can think of offhand.

7. Anything you especially don't?
Again, nothing comes to mind at the moment.

8 Do you like threadhopping (a character not already in a thread jumping in unexpectedly to reply to a comment), and are you okay with other people threadhopping in your threads and posts?
I will typically ask to make sure it's okay and not derailing ideas others had for the thread; in my threads, I'm fine with people jumping in. I will mark the log closed or label a subthread with the characters for whom it's intended if I'm very attached to specific plans. More CR is a lovely thing.
