What the hell have they been feeding them?!
I was just on the tube on my way back from a lovely evening with Ev and Uri when a big group of kids went ballistic on the tube. I think they were about 10 or 11 years old. I am not sure how many there were. Too many, like little knawing street rats.
Anyhoo, as we got to Liverpool Street, they all ran off the train and starting punching people and throwing drinks over people. They got this one lady all over her suit and whacked about 5 or 6 others in the face. They then ran back onto the train shouting 'motherf**ker!' and everything else they could think of.
As I was getting off at the next stop, I decided that if they got off at Bethnal Green too, then I would get back on the tube and get a taxi back from the next stop. I poked my head out of the tube at the station to see if the kids had got off and it all looked clear so I scooted quickly towards the escalator. Then there was some banging and swearing. I guess they had decided to force the doors as the tube was leaving and they were running up behind the rest of us, I decided I would pre-empt the badness and scuttle so I tucked in my plait and moved up the escalator as fast as I could without drawing attention to myself. A quick glance revealed there were more than 10 of them. When I reached the ticket barriers I bolted as the last thing I needed was for them to come out the same exit that I was and start harassing me. All I could hear as I ran was the swearing of the kids behind me and people getting knocked over.
I walked close to the traffc so that if they turned up, I could bring things into the middle of the road and make it other people's problem too. I have never been so happy to see a strip club in my life (my sister's place is behind one). The bouncers are enormous so I caught my breath with them and then asked one to watch me as I went down my street. I couldn't see the kids anywhere but it bothered me that I was coming back to a place on my own on a side street.
I made it back inside and brought down the port cullis. My chest was totally exploding and my asthma stuff, of course, is in Sydney.
10 years old.
It gets you to thinking. What is up with people?? 10 is just too young for all that. It's all a bit creepy.
Missing good old Newtown and it's lack of lunatic-hell children. The lack of lunatic-hell children is certainly under-rated.
Think I'll get a taxi tomorrow...
