Rejected titles for this one include "Horsing Around" and "Why the Long Face?"...
Anyway there is this Icelandic photography page, ljosmyndakeppni.is, which is kind of the Icelandic version of DPChallenge. On the page there are regular competitions on various themes. I sent this one into a competition called 'Mammals, apart from humans'.
Long story short this one placed third, the photos above are a photo of a kitten (1st place) and one of whales (2nd place). So I got the bronze ribbon, yay! I was looking at the grade I got for this photo yesterday, and discovered to my amusement that it was only 0.002 points above the photo in fourth. But, hey, I have my first ribbon over there.
I want to try to shoot another photo similar to this one. Only this time I want to use a wider lens. For this one I used a 18-105mm lens @18mm, but for the photo I want to shoot I'm thinking something in the 10-20mm range and using it at the widest end. I hope for fun distortions.
