1930s vs the present

It's amazing -- I'm listening to radio news reports from the lead up to World War II. In order to be heard, people had to speak slowly and clearly. They had to articulate. They had to think about what they said. Mistakes were rare. Then I listen to the news today. I listen to the people who are supposed to speak well. No comparison. I think something vital's been lost in the march of time.
