There was late night when Silas reached home after their meeting with Ethan Rayne. He opened the bunny’s cage first, and put her down the flooring. Silas watched his brother’s present for some minutes as she started exploring the room, then he strode to his desk and opened a small drawer. There was Alexander’s ring in it.
Not that Silas would have been sentimentalist. He was too plain than to trouble his own life with such feelings. But Silas liked Alexander and did not intended to break an oath he gave to a dying man. Not to mention he had no desire to live over again what he had witnessed once, more than two millennia ago.
It would have been much easier if Terry Sheridan had sold him Pandora’s Box. But he did not and understanding from Caspian’s words, the Scot planned to use the box to barter for his freedom from MI-6. So, Silas was compelled to ask Ethan’s help. A chaos mage always comes in handy after all. And Sheridan would have known much better than to piss off an immortal, let alone a horseman.
Silas grinned at the thought how Terry Sheridan would feel very soon. After the ritual, Ethan assured him that the Scot’s “old avenger” would be out of order for a week.
Now, Silas was going to wait... to let Sheridan stew in his own juice. After a day or two, and the mortal would beg him to make business, the immortal was sure in that.
