You may be aware of efforts the federal government has attempted in recent years to shut down adult social networking sites, supposedly in order to fight child pornography. The latest in this never ending battle for our rights on the Internet is
Section 2257. Tonight I did something I haven't done in a long, long time. I talked back to my government: I sent in comments by email to the Department of Justice protesting the proposed regulations. I took the
form letter provided by the NGLTF, and added a few sentences of my own:
Additionally, as a Deaf adult, the Internet offers me an unparalleled means of communications with hearing people that I cannot easily achieve by telephone or in noisy public settings. I strongly object to the federal government interfering with my ability to connect on websites with other like-minded individuals.
