Early July Aetna granted (finally) authorization for upgrades to my processors. Thank goodness for having a supportive benefits manager at work who directed the insurance company to allow processor upgrades every 5 years.
This time around I opted for the Kanso model, a fully self-contained processor the roughly size of a very, very thick large coin. No more apparatus behind the ear with a coil and cable attached.
Today my audiologist at UCSF, Kurt Kramer, opened up the packaging, did a mapping adjustment and sent me happily on my way.
