* Milwaukee, Wisconsin to La Crosse, South Dakota *
We stayed with my former roommate Kait Moon of the Hanta Haus in Seattle’s warehouse district. That morning, Kait treated us to a big bowl of oatmeal sweetened with pure maple syrup. My sugar-tooth was quite pleased. We had fun with the kids, gifting them some fairy costume accessories and wings, trading baby stuff for Tree Leaves’ stuff. I worked a bit on the RV getting it ready for departure. We were able to hit the highways by 2 pm, but with lack of time to visit out new electrician friend from Starwood, for unfortunately, we were on a tight schedule getting to Faerieworlds in time to set up our vending booth. We pit stopped at Trader Joe’s for supplies and sundries, but ran into a dilemma of where to park the RV/ vardo. We stuffed it into a tight regular car space, hanging out a block away, and asked a local policeman if we were OK - he said he was fine with it. It was a bit of a juggling scene carrying the groceries a block away with young child in arms. Alot of traffic awaited us as we left Milwaukee. Tons of construction projects, wreck-less drivers, and bumper to bumper incidents. We finally made our way to Madison, stopping for a few hours to do laundry. We had accumulated over 7 large trash bags of dirty clothes, fabric, tapestries, and bedding. That evening, we drove on through the night, spectated by the thousands of dancing fireflies along the road side to light our path. We drove onwards until 1 am, stopping at a rest area near La Crosse, South Dakota for the night. Well needed rest was had.
