More of an update than anything else.
I haven't felt like writing anything for the last few weeks. No real reason why. The reconstruction at my weekend home should be completed this week much to our relief. New bedroom furniture has been purchased and paid for by our insurance company. The additional repairs to the living room and main bathroom look exceptionally well and we are pleased. Painting is finishing today, floor carpet, bathroom and utility room floors installation set for tomorrow and thursday. And that should complete the repairs. I was told this morning I am not allowed to walk on the new floors with my shoes on which I found a bit amusing even though I had decided that very same thing yesterday. The carpet is several shades lighter than what was originally installed. I won't be eating over it either since I am a notorious "spiller". But as of last Friday when we drove down to check on the renovations we left there very pleased. It's going to look nicer than when we bought the place 7 years ago.
The bedroom furniture is being custom made and won't be ready for another 4 to 6 weeks, but the new mattress and box springs is ready for delivery anytime now. I am basically letting Mark do the decorating since he has a flare for it. I am better suited for physical work, like painting and moving furniture, hanging pictures, stuff like that. He picks it out, tells me where it should be placed, and I do the placing. But it works well that way and I don't mind. Everybody has their strong points and their weak points.
We haven't been able to list his Dad's house for sell yet. Although we have nearly all the painting completed, we still need some ceiling plaster repaired and still have things to move out. We don't really talk much about it either. It's just to hard on us, the grief and all that goes along with it.
Work goes well.
My youngest nephew is in New Zealand and trying to find a job there. I have sent him 2 emails but haven't gotten any reply which surprises me just a bit. He's in my prayers and I think he is happy there too.
Otherwise, as far as I know, all is well. And that's good enough for today.
