both engines from the Boeing 737-800, airline spokesman Tim Smith said."

Yep, those are significant cracks. Most passengers said the plane broke into two,
but they aren't  Airline Spokesman trained like Mr. Smith. Also, just to the left of the plane's
nose is the Carribean. That would be described, I suspect, as a local pool of standing water.
