Apparently when I'm really proud of someone I get the need to buy them furniture. I spent an hour today just staring at a chair and kind of grinning as I thought of him up on stage, looking so happy and involved and his voice sounded beautiful and he was just opening himself up to the whole audience and I admired that, and I had one of those "I can't believe this" squeals, but in my mind, not for anyone to hear. He was wonderful.
So I ended up buying him about six or seven more chairs than I actually needed to redesign his house. But hey, people need chairs, right? Excess of sitting room isn't too much of a problem. It's not like I bought him six or seven beds. Or nine tables.
I think he's going to be surprised by the number of lamps in his new place, though. He will have the most well-lit apartment in the whole area. But hey, with lights, like chairs, you can't go wrong... except if the lamps and chairs are ugly, but these aren't.
He was so good.
