Tikkun olam- Repairing the world

↑↑That's↑↑  a category of good deeds, or right action as you might say, in Judaism.

Lately these things↘ have been showing up all over the neighborhood: in my mailbox, on ledges, on stacks of free local newspapers, and so on:

In case you can't tell, this is a tract, a monstrous big tract: 378 pages, about 750 words per full page. In case you still aren't sure, see the ad on the last page:↙

And in case you don't know me that well, I don't like evangelizing; see icon. I have a sign that I've put up on the front door of my home, wherever I've lived where it faces the outside world:

NO SOLICITORS OVER 18
Religious, commercial, charitable, or otherwise
Offenders will be COMPOSTED

I won't touch anything in or on anyone else's mailbox, of course. But whatever's around mine, or on public property, is fair game. So I've been snapping up these pieces of mind-killing junk wherever I see them and dropping them into the nearest recycling bin, or trash can if I can't recycle them in in reasonable time.

And now that I've taken these pictures, I will cheerfully drop this copy in the bag of crap to be recycled and take it out tonight, for tomorrow is our neighborhood's pickup day.   This entry was originally posted at http://thnidu.dreamwidth.org/1434536.html.
