Dear Jacquie Lawson... (they finally got it)

Jan 03, 2015 19:54

I subscribe to jacquielawson.com. I enjoy their animated musical greeting e-cards and send them often. They're a good company and generally quite helpful. This time, though... Well, I guess they're overloaded this time of year.

I apologize for the lack of cuts: I've tried for over half an hour, and they just don't work at all well with the different levels of indentation.

The preview for "An Ice Surprise" never loads from clicking on "Preview this card" on the birthday card catalog page http://www.jacquielawson.com/cards/birthday. All I get is the bottom links
"Send this card | Choose another card"

I cleared my cache, to no avail. Other cards' previews do come up, e.g., Clock Collection and A Winter Scene.

my reply:

No, the FAQ didn't help. See details below. And the problem is still there, the same as I first described it.
Your FAQ sections and the results I got from each one:
Problems viewing cards (including blank screen, no music, other anomalies)

When I view a card I get a blank screen, or it gets stuck part way through

Try a "hard refresh"

It didn't help.
Log out of jacquielawson.com

It didn't help.
Clear your browser cache

It didn't help.
Disable any web accelerators

1. I don't use one.

2. In any case, that would almost certainly have affected all the cards, not just this one; but this is the only one I had the problem with.
Update your copy of the Flash Player

I checked. "Adobe® Flash® Player is up to date on this system."
Check your security settings.

One other possibility is that there's some kind of third-party security or privacy software, or possibly a setting in your browser's security options, which is preventing the card from displaying.

See above, 2.
The card page doesn't appear at all!

... many computers include "popup blockers" which will stop new tabs or windows from opening.

See above, 2.
Problems hearing music

Never got that far.
Only part of my message is displayed

Never got that far.
"Missing image" icon seen when trying to view card

Not applicable.
I am viewing one of the darker cards (e.g. Halloween) and it is too dark

Never got that far.

Dear ___,

Thank you for your message.

We have an FAQ page which I think should help with your problem installing Flash. Please check out this page:

http://www.jacquielawson.com/faq/answer.asp?QuestionID=3526

In particular please check out the Flash Player help page which is referenced on the above page, since that contains a good troubleshooter for installing and enabling the Flash Player.

Please don't hesitate to reply to this e-mail if you need further assistance.

Best wishes,
Michael W.

me to them

Excuse me, but did you read my letter? I have Adobe Flash Player and it is up to date. Besides, this problem occurs with only one card (of the ones I have tried), "Have an Ice Day", and a flash player problem would presumably affect all of them.
Additional info:

Firefox 34.0.5 (latest)
Mac OS X 10.7.5 (up to date)
