I just went out in the cold, cold rain to shovel out the car. Not that I'm heading out tonight! but ice is a lot tougher than snow. I'd say that 2 or 3 inches of the stuff I just moved weighs something like twice as much as 6-8" of fresh-fallen fluffy.

When I was done with half an hour of that, my gloves were soaked through and my fingers too numb to turn the key. I had to call SON to let me in. Next time out: waterproof winter gloves.
