The Hidden Pleasures of Life: A New Way of Remembering the Past and Imagining the Future by
Theodore Zeldin My rating:
5 of 5 stars An interesting, fact-filled exploration of important philosophical questions about contemporary life, such as What is the great adventure of our time? What is a wasted life? How can people lose their illusions about themselves? Why do so many people feel unappreciated, unloved and not fully alive? What is worth knowing? This rich book provides some answers, but the point of it is really asking the questions and getting engaged with them. In that way, this book is a triumph.
