Day 25: Your favorite song from 2010 (so far)
No doubt, one of the albums that will be on many 10 best lists by the time the year is over is the new Robert Plant album. While I haven't bought it yet (though I will soon), I've listened to it several times through NPR's stream (which sadly ended when the album came out) and I got to see Plant and the Band of Joy do a half-hour at the Ryman after the Americana Awards. Yes, it was awesome.
One of my favorite songs off the album is called "Monkey." It's got a sexy, creepy, sordid vibe, thanks to Buddy Miller's electric guitar effects and the interplay of Plant and Patty Griffin's voices. One of my favorites off a favorite album. Here's someone recorded a performance of it from a concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
