Tv series review

The Almighty Johnsons.  Out of New Zealand, it is fresh, funny, quirky in ways tv is so very rarely anymore. You can watch this wasted and have a great time. The acting is solid with some exceptional pieces. The story is absurd in all the right ways. The premise is that the norse gods, way back when, chose to incarnate as humans...for reasons having to do with godthink...and after they incarnated they migrated on a ship, together, to New Zealand. Pushed out by the rise of Christianity. Now they are reborn into the decendants  of those original families, being gods and not dieing and all. The catch is they do not manifest until the person's 21st birthday, and you are naked, ad in a forest. So, the first episode is the 21st birthday of the youngest of the 4 Johnson brothers, whose parents... well , are not there now. There is no particular rhyme or reason behind who has which gd indwelling them. Their powers as gods are diminishing over time...and there we are off on the story that is partly driven by the saga these norse gods of old and partly driven by the reality of the actual people and the lives they lead, and choose to lead.

This is high on my recommendation list for anyone looking for lightheartecd fare! A terrific romp and the silly kiwis canceled it since it was getting popular globally. You can watch the entire thing.
