Internship
Well, this week was pretty cool. I started my internship at HP Labs in Palo Alto. Did the usual first week stuff, like setup computer, learn all about benefits etc. Also had to read a whole bunch of stuff on health/dental/vision plans. Any recommendations for what I should get as health coverage? Anything to watch out for? Heh, maybe I should do an "Ask Slashdot" on this.
I also spent the better part of the week fixing my computer and submitting my conference paper. Darn computer, the IDE controller had to fail on the motherboard (1 of 2), which also happened to be the partition where Windows was installed. So what does that mean? New motherboard, completely reinstall windows and all programs. Bleah. Well, took me 3 nights, and most of Saturday to finish that. And the new motherboard had a very new RAID controller, so Windows XP needed to find drivers, on a floppy. Who da heck uses those anymore. Gah, took forever to find floppies that didn't have tons of bad sectors on them.
Anyway, I'm heading to a BBQ this afternoon. Maybe I'll go early for some frisbee (ultimate).
