Update on my life.

Illustrator is AWESOME. I am sure I will never use all it’s capabilities but I am so excited to do the little bit I can. My instructor is a Grade-A nut job. I work for the USDA so I can grade things.

She talks about herself in the third person. Deep in the third person, referring to herself as “she” and “her”. The first day I wondered if she was introducing someone else in the class, finally I realized she was talking about herself - kooky!

She is also a Grade-A bitch. One day, 10 min BEFORE class was scheduled to begin I was on hold with the car dealership on my cell. I was dead silent. I walked into the room and set my things down and was in the process of logging in to my computer when I heard her say in a LOUD voice “Are you on the PHONE?” I ignored her.

She says: “HEY YOU.”

I look.

“ARE YOU ON THE PHONE?”

I hold the phone out (which she could clearly see from the three feet away) - “Yes.”

She points at the door “OUT!”

As if I am five.

Worked hard all weekend, manning the bar while the owners were out of town. We came up with a fundraiser and Thanksgiving dinner to benefit NCAP and the NCAP clients, as well as a goods drive that will last through the Holidays. More info when it is concrete.

Working on art for an upcoming show in October. Pretty excited to be part of an art collective now! It provides the focus and impetus I need to keep working. Also gives a good way to get critique and exposure.

The home front is pretty calm right now. Oldest is practically never home and is still working and going to school so that is good. Youngest is in 9th grade and scaring me with the nearness to adulthood. I am constantly remembering what I did at that age, and how hard it all was.
