Live Journal's Younger, Cooler Cousin
Over at Facebook, where all the cool kids are hanging out these days, the pace is fast and perfectly suited for people in a hurry or with short attention spans. Many have abandoned the "good old days" of taking time to work through their thoughts for the flashy video and picture clad one liners at Facebook.
Facebook is the loud and crowded bar, full of distractions. Often, you can't hear yourself think, much less have a conversation with someone else. Live Journal is the front porch with rockers, a big shade tree, and a glass of icy homemade lemonade.
Facebook is a great place to pop in and keep up with the many friends we might not see otherwise, but I hope people come back to hang out on the front porch every once in awhile.
