I figured someone should post on September 11th. I'll give it a try.

If you didn't stop the song from playing and it's working properly, your listening to two songs that i believe have direct relevance to the 9/11 attacks.
Believe by Yellowcard. By simply listening to the lyrics, i can't help but be affected. I don't know if they wrote it because of what happened, It's just what the song reminds me of.

Lyrics:
Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Climbing higher through the fire, time was running out
Never knowing you weren't going to be coming down alive
But you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Be strong. Believe.

Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out
Let it all go, the life that you know, just to bring it down alive
And you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.

(Again today, we take into our hearts and minds those who perished on this site one year ago, and also those who came to toil in the rubble to bring order out of chaos, to help us make sense of our despair)

Wanna hold my wife when I get home
Wanna tell the kids they'll never know how much I love to see them smile
Wanna make a change or two right now
Wanna live a life like you somehow
Wanna make your sacrifice worthwhile

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.

Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day

(The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here)

Everything is going to be alright. I hope so.

The second song is "There's a hole in the world tonight" by The Eagles.
I heard the story behind this song. The Eagles were supposed to go in for a procedure recording session on September 11, 2001. When they woke up to find out what happened they ditched that and tried to find a way to help. Later that week, they went into the studio and recorded this song instead of what they originally planned on recording.

Lyrics:
There's a hole in the world tonight
There's a cloud of fear and sorrow
There's a hole in the world tonight
Don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow.

They say that anger is just love dissappointed.
They say that love is just a state of mind.
But all this fighting over who will be annointed
Oh how can people be so blind?

There's a hole in the world tonight
There's a cloud of fear and sorrow
There's a hole in the world tonight
Don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow.

Oh they tell me there's a place over yonder,
Cool water running through the burning sand.
Until we learn to love one another
We will never reach the promised land.

There's a hole in the world tonight
There's a cloud of fear and sorrow
There's a hole in the world tonight
Don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow.

(There's a hole in the world tonight)
They say that anger is just love dissappointed.
(There's a cloud of fear and sorrow)
They say that love is just a state of mind.
(There's a hole in the world tonight)
But all this fighting over who will be annointed
(Don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow)
Oh how can people be so blind

I feel like i should tell you all this. I m extremely fortunate. My uncle had an appointment to be in the second tower that morning at 10:30 AM, but had to had to cancel for some reason i don't remember. I just think that's really important.

Dear God,
watch over and protect those directly and indirectly affected by the disasters that occured on this day six years ago. We thank you for the allowing us to see the good in such dark times. For the people who didn't have to, but wanted to go help in any way they could. For all this and more, We thank you.
as always, your loving servant,
Justin
