At that moment, Hongbin felt the worst anxiety he had ever felt in his life. It was even worse than how he felt when he first went on stage.
He looked around and instead of the blinding lights of the studio, a single light from an open door was illuminating the red carpet and bunches and pots of flowers littered across a center aisle. On his left side was Wonshik who was looking at him, grinning from ear to ear. Beside him stood a girl smiling the same way, her hair up, a small crystal barrette placed near her ear, hands held by Wonshik. The whole audience were smiling that way. He found it amusing was he was the only one who seemed to be frowning.
Suddenly he felt so misplaced but at the same time he was so sure that all he want to be is here. He wouldn't trade this place over anywhere else. Not even in the place of someone doing concerts almost everyday in almost every imaginable place in the world, in places he doesn’t even know.
Then the music started. Piano notes floated in the air as Leo started singing. It was like their first showcase. He was filled with happiness but at the same time, uncertainty. It was a start of another future, like a start of a new life, like being born again in another person shoes. Only this time, instead of five hands to ensure him that everything will be all right, he has only one pair to hold. Even so he still feels better than ever, he was uncertain but he was certain. He was never so sure that this was the hand he wanted to hold.
Slowly Hongbin saw her. She looked almost the same way she looked when he first saw him. Only this time her hair was lying on her shoulder, curled perfectly, cascading like a black mantle against her skin, lips colored in perfect shade of pink, eyes glowing, lined simply, only enough to emphasize their beauty. She looked almost the same way how she looked in that picture he signed with "I'll wait for you."
That was his first promise.
“I’ll wait for you.”
And he really did wait.
She was glowing. Rina was glowing with her beautiful white dress as she walked in the aisle and be surrounded by flowers.
"I am sorry I am a little late," she said.
"I waited for you then, the short wait for you today don't even matter. So are we going to make them all wait longer?" Hongbin replies laughing. “I don’t mind, not at all, and probably never.” he adds.
Wonshik pats him and whispers, “I know you guys have an eternity for you in the future but as for everyone else here we have all our eternities to spend as well.”
Laughingly and embarrassed, together they faced the priest, hand in hand, beaming. The time for the two lovers ticked slowly as the ceremony went by. Anyone can guess they couldn't wait to kiss each other already.
Finally, it then it came.
"Would you Rina..."
"I do." She answers without even letting the priest finish. She smiles at his groom, who was grinning, looking down because he was trying his best not to laugh. Apparently he wasn’t the only one who felt as if waiting for years was more than enough.
It was then the groom’s turn.
The priest turned to Hongbin and started "Would you Hong---"
"I do, I did, and I would forever. It's never gonna end," Hongbin says and presses kisses on Rina’s forehead, nose, and finally, lips. “That’s for making me wait three years, one for each. And as we grow old, I’ll never tire to add more. Till I can’t stop counting, till infinite, till forever.”
And yes, this is the start of their forever.
