Dumbo
Tonight was definitely an upside. Saw two chuck jones cartoons and a tex avery cartoon in 35 mm prints and also Dumbo in 35mm print! (to those to which that makes no sense, that means that they took the original filmstock and struck new prints of them and we saw them as they were originally shown when they were first released in theaters. Looks great that way! (the sound was awesome also)
Then John Lasseter spoke about his experiences and why these films influenced him as a filmmaker. Pretty Awesome!
(John Lasseter was in charge of Pixar and also directed a bunch of its films, now he is the creative executive in charge of Disney and Pixar animation...basically the most powerful man in animation today)
(side note: also saw the first Indiana Jones in 35mm print a couple weeks ago for free! nice!)
