thats right. First day of Class. In which we went overtime and also have 4 projects (2 zoetrope strips and 2 flipbooks) due next week along with some reading. Yep...looks like a good indication of the rest of the semester...of course, i still have 4 more classes to attend this week along with a lab and a weekly drawing class. sweet.
today was also the day we got our apartment carpet cleaned. It was really disgusting: sticky spots and large (really large) black patches. I wouldn't walk without shoes in the living room it was so bad. The carpet cleaner said that this was the third worst carpet he's ever cleaned...and those were for water damages. The dirty water was like used motor oil. Thank goodness it's really clean now :)
Speaking of dirty...during Grad Orientation last last monday, Tim and I were sitting on the grass waiting to go into the auditorium/theater to listen to boring speeches about how we made the right choice...and as i am sitting, i look up and there is this girl about 30 feet away totally flashing me her panties. She was sitting on the ground with her legs bent and was hitching her dress (which was a really nice dress i might add...the color blue was pretty) which while I tried not to look or stare, her hitching movements kept drawing my eyes. She was pretty good looking to boot.lol That was certainly the best time I've had at an orientation.
I really want to show how pretty USC really is though. The landscaping is beautiful for a school (which at orientation i found was evidently endowed, so that's one thing my outrageously expensive tuition monies are not going toward.) Its got some rose gardens and a couple fountains and everything. I've just been so busy trying to get settled and find a work study position that i've not really thought about it. I will try to get some pictures taken and posted when I can.
Already have been to several parties. Two or three with my new roommates. Those were ok, but about half their friends are potsheads or lousy drinkers (as in they really drink with no regard to drinking limits) But my rooommates are pretty cool so far. The other two parties were production parties (well, one a screenwriters party and the other a production party) Those were pretty fun...The screenwriters one had lots and lots of really awesome food and a little guitar hero action. the production party was pretty standard, but with a great nighttime view of the LA city skyline at night.
Went and saw superbad with my roommates. I would have to say that while the movie is really pretty crass and crude...it is extremely well-written and superbly executed...not something that i was expecting at all. other than that, it is the most phallic movie I have ever seen. Bar none.
As far as the USC Animation department goes, I have to say...I have been greatly blessed by the Lord. I am one of 14 in the incoming animation class...an additional two makes 16, but they are transfer students for only a year from Taiwan and Japan. It's really amazing. I also am the second youngest, i believe and one of the few to come right out of college to this program. There are 3 of us from Florida (all blondes lol) a UFian and two of us UCFers. a guy from taiwan, ones from pittsburgh, boston, london, san fran., Iran, etc...
I have also gone to the oncampus lutheran/episcopal church service...the people seem cool, i will try that out for at least another couple of weeks to see if the same/similar 20ish people or show still show up after the first weeks. They had me doing the prayers the first time i went!
Oh, and i love riding my bike to campus...its so invigorating, but i'm always afraid that when i come out its going to be missing. (USC is surrounded by pretty much ghetto.) Hopefully i can get myself into some kind of exercise regimen soon.
Thats a pretty quick overview though it seems like a lot. now i want to go to bed despite it being only 12:15am.
