Gotta get me some clients

I really need some clients.

I have two student loans -- a large one and a small one. I have been paying off the small one all this time. The large one has been in forbearance for about a year. Forbearance is about to end in January. I need clients!! Not a lot -- just enough to cover my student loan payment. So we can stay in the pretty good financial situation we've been in. We're not saving a whole lot, but neither are we racking up debt. We bought some fun toys this year -- my Honda Super Cub for one, and a bunch of motorcycle accessories for Lon. But I don't want us to fall behind.

They don't teach you anything about marketing in graduate school. And I know very little about it. I did the public school workshops, which made me a little bit of money and basically paid for the Continuing Ed class I have to do. I included my card and some information about my therapy/parent education practice in the folders. Who knows if anything will come of that. My friend in the business suggests that I make up some folders and take them to the school counselors at local private and parochial schools. The public schools I think have rules about only referring people to approved vendors.

I don't take insurance, which is a strike against me in the minds of some clients. But insurance barely pays for mental health services anyway! And I'm not convinced that it pays to take insurance unless you are full time because you spend so much time chasing down health insurance companies and faxing and re-faxing claims, I'd rather charge on a sliding scale and not take insurance.
