My new skirts fit and they're so pretty!!!!
Well, I'm glad the exercise binge is paying off. And I'm glad my internet seems to be working this morning. Maybe I unjinxed myself when I posted about it earlier.
I wrote about 600 words of a new Prydain fic last night. If my connection holds, I'll probably post it later. Still trying to drum up ideas for my Giles/Sarah Jane story, but that's not due until early June. I want it to have an actual plot, though. Something more than just two characters meeting in a bar - or outside a cemetery, in this case.
I have one word for the Season Two finale of "Alias":
WHAT?
TV and movie characters would fare a lot better if they watched more tv and movies. Syd, honey, anytime your sweetie turns to you and says, "The hell with our jobs! I'm going to book that flight to the Caribbean!" SOMETHING BAD IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.
I've been matching up Alias and Buffy characters, wondering who would win in a fight. It came out something like this:
Sydney vs. Buffy (superheroines!): Honestly, no idea. I'd give Buffy the edge, I guess, seeing how she's died and come back twice. Then again... No. Mid-fight, they'd probably realize they're better off as allies.
Dixon vs. Giles (older partner/mentor): I like Dixon, but Giles pwns everyone.
Vaughn vs. Riley (government agent with dorky codename): Vaughn, though I don't dislike Riley. Vaughn's just...cooler. And his dorky nickname (Boyscout) isn't as dorky as Riley's (Lilac???)
Jack & Irina vs. Joyce & whatisname (the 'rents): Dude, no contest! Do I even have to say it?
Marshall vs. Willow (genius/supergeeks): Marshall is SO cute, but Willow's got that magic. I don't think Marshall has it in him to flay a person.
Will vs. Xander (sidekick with a crush on the heroine): I can't. No way. They wouldn't fight. They'd just go to the Bronze and play darts over beer.
Anna Espinosa vs. Faith (ubersexy rival): Jesus, Gina vs. Eliza. In terms of attractiveness, Gina is more my type, but Anna kind of disappears whereas Faith has her whole awesome cycle of crazy of redemption. Faithie wins.
Allison!Francie vs. Anya (sidekick's erstwhile romantic interest, who goes malevolent): Dunno. If she has her vengeance powers, Anya. If not, Allison!Francie, since she's got the superspy training.
Sark vs. Spike (blond, British antagonist): Spike, though it's probably not fair to judge Sark after only two seasons. But Spike was so much fun in seasons two and three of Buffy, whereas Sark... Meh. Just doesn't interest me.
Kendall vs. Snyder (obnoxious authority figure): Kendall. He has more power.
Sloane vs. the Master, Angelus, the Mayor, Adam, Glory, the Trio, and the First Evil (archenemies): Sloane may be mortal (for now) but he manages to survive from season to season. Even Angelus would probably rather turn him than kill him.
I couldn't find matches for Cordelia, Tara, or Dawn. They ref, I guess. Which really isn't fair.
So, who wins? I don't know. Buffy's team, since I like her series better as a whole.
