I'm going to Iceland next month. Just for a few days, but I'm excited to be traveling somewhere new and interesting. I'm only a little apprehensive because my cat - Sophie, naturally - was diagnosed with diabetes literally the day after I purchased my tickets. I have to give her insulin injections twice a day, which is actually easier than it sounds because she's a good girl, but I'm not sure how well behaved she's going to be for the sitter. We'll find out Friday, when the sitter comes over to meet the cats, but if Sophie hides, I may have to board her at the vet while I'm gone. Which I'd rather not do, since she's a skittish little thing and being in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people will stress her out. On the other hand, it's only four days.

But why does everything have to be complicated?

I started writing again! Not with gusto, but ... I have a couple works in progress that might get finished some day. For one, I realized I had some thoughts on Luke Skywalker (whom I've never loved more than I did in TLJ) but rather than turn these thoughts into an essay, I decided to turn them into a story. Which is mostly about Leia.

I got a free month of CBS, so I've been watching Star Trek: Discovery. It's okay. Better than I thought it would be, given some of the reactions, but I don't love it. (Though the twist at the end of this Sunday's episode was pretty cool.) I find I don't care about the continuity issues, mostly because Trek itself has never seemed to care all that much about continuity between series. The Klingons bother me. Usually I love Klingons. But these Klingons are boring - and THEY HAVE NO HONOR.

Anyway, it's really nasty out. I'm supposed to join some friends for trivia night at a local restaurant and I have a coupon for a free dessert since my birthday was last week, but man. I have a feeling once I get home I'm not going to want to move again.
