I had a pretty nice birthday yesterday. I didn't tell anyone at work that it was my birthday, since that seems not to be a thing, but afterward I went out for Thai food with a friend, and I got a free cupcake at Life Is Sweet, which was nice. Then I went home, took a bath, drank some wine, ate my cupcake, and watched "Shakespeare in Love" on DVD. It seems I'm still a little in love with Joseph Fiennes. *sigh*
Oh, and I finished my epic Richard and Anne ghost story,
Let Me Sit Heavy On Thy Soul. It's gotten a pretty good reception; I'm even pleased that someone told me she hated Richard, even though she liked the story itself, since I was trying to avoid whitewashing him. (I highly doubt he did all the awful things he's been accused of doing, but come on; dude was a medieval king. He wasn't a saint.) Anyway, I think that's it for "The White Queen." It was not a good show, though Aneurin Barnard is kind of a cutie, and it was nice seeing Anne portrayed as somewhat spirited (though the last few episodes were hot messes). It also revived my interest in the time period, so I guess it's a win.
Now I'm onto other things, like more Carol/Christine, and some unfilled Yuletide prompts.
I made chili in my crock pot for the first time, and it came out really well - though perhaps a little too much lime. I made it with qinoa, which I've decided I like.
I love my crock pot. It makes things so stupefyingly easy. Why has it taken me so long to figure this out? My family never had one while I was growing up, but still.
I think I'm going snow tubing tomorrow. I've never been, but apparently it's fun. I hope I don't crash into anything.
