Thinking of blowing off the gym this afternoon and just going home (with a possible stop at the cupcake shop on the way). I mean, I'm giving blood tomorrow; that expends calories too! Also, I'm tired. It's been a stressful week. I still need to figure out what to do with the damn car. *headdesk*

Anyway, a meme.

2. I will give you a letter.
3. Think of 5 fictional characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ/DW.

cadenzamuse gave me W, which stumped me at first, but then I remembered some people:

1. Hoban "Wash" Washburne (Firefly): WAAAAASH. "I'm a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar." With his plastic dinosaurs and his kick-ass piloting skills and his powerful love for Zoe... I love Wash.

2. Kai Winn Adami (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine): I don't usually go for villains, but I appreciate it when they're complex, like Kai Winn. She's a religious leader and a politician (on Bajor there doesn't seem to be much difference between the two). She's shrewd as hell, and totally self-serving, though there's a part of her that believes she's doing what's right for her planet.

3. Robin Wood (Buffy the Vampire Slayer): Principal Wood could have been really cool, but like a number of characters in S7 (Kennedy, Rhona) he showed up too late for much development. I think it would have been neat if they'd introduced him earlier (like S6 - even if it was just for an episode or two) and played up his (justified) antagonism toward Spike. I mean, Wood was pretty cool in S7. I like the idea of a bad-ass normal guy occasionally helping the Scoobies out, especially if he has his own stuff going on (avenging his mom, running a school).

4. Witch Baby (Dangerous Angels): Witch Baby is really Weetzie Bat's foil in the "Dangerous Angels" books. Weetzie sees only the silver lining; Witch Baby sees only the clouds. She gains a little perspective as she grows up, but throughout the series she remains a counterpoint to Weetzie's feathers and pink glitter. She also follows her boyfriend to New York, rescues him, then returns to LA on her own because she needs to understand herself before she can be with another person. By the time the series ends, she still hasn't quite decided what she wants to do about Juan, which I think is just fine. She's young and should explore her options. I love her.

5. Winona Kirk (Star Trek Reboot): She isn't really a character in the film, but I love what certain authors have done with her. She struggles to balance her family life and her career. She stumbles a bit, but on the whole she's a good mother, a good officer, a good person, and an inspiration to her son Jim.
