I want this to be their first date. And if that's wrong I don't want to be right.

SCOTTY! LET'S START WITH SOME GEN, NU OR ORIGINAL FLAVOR.

If we have any actualfacts engineers or other people who understand the jargon in the house, I would love to see a facsimile of Scotty's notes in the margins of a textbook/journal article/"Oh god no that's not right" layperson's magazine artical. What paragraphs or schematics does he cover in hearts? Which bits does he D: face at? What assertions does he circle and capslock "WRONG JUST WRONG" at? And perhaps most importantly: Are his notes as snarky as I think they are?

Scott immediately started to unpack his baggage. The uniforms and off-duty clothes protected two of his most precious possessions. He lifted the top layer of uniform shirts and trousers from the chest and hung them in the small closet assigned to him. Then he pushed aside the long length of red Scott tartan that covered it and brought out the ancient fighting targe and its accompanying sheathed two-handed broadsword. They had been passed down in his family for centuries, eldest son to eldest son, and he would no more dream of going into space without them than he would dream of relying on engines he hadn't checked out personally. He looked around and found a suitable bulkhead wall between his bed and a stack of built-in shelves that would nicely accommodate the targe and sword. He dug out several metal-adhering hooks that would bear the weight of his two prizes and swiftly attached them to the wall. Then he lifted the old bronze-studded leather targe and the great sword into place and stood back to study their placement. Yes, ( ... )

After finding out about The Broadsword, Sulu wrangles Scotty into learning how to fence. And then they make out.

Those two sentences just made my entire day.

Title: Swordplay (If You Know What I Mean)
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Scotty's first fencing lesson is over, but Hikaru's not done with him yet.
Warnings: Frottage
Word Count: 1,753
Note: I know nothing about fencing, so I didn't focus much on it.

"Okay, that couldn't have been legal," Scotty declared as he followed Hikaru into the locker room. They'd just spent a good two hours in the Enterprise's rec room for Scotty's first fencing lesson. It had taken Hikaru months to convince Scotty to actually do this ( ... )

At the beginning of “Balance of Terror” Angela Martine is shown walking down the aisle on Scotty’s arm. What is their relationship? (http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Angela_Martine) Why did she ask him specifically? At the end of the episode, does Scotty console her?

There's a ghost in Engineering. Scotty thinks this is the most natural thing in the world.

Oh yes, I love this prompt! There is a great tradition of ghosts in the UK, Scotty would not be phased by that.

True enough.

The Doctor murmurs: fazed. A "fazer" has only the "stun" setting.
