I concur on Jim as a dusty, tweedy English Lit professor... it'd be glorious!

He'd still contrive to save the world; I always thought my English professors were pretty heroic. Can you imagine how popular his classes would be? *g* A friend and I once speculated that if Jim did go into an academic field, it would be anthropology.

Thank you so very much!! :)

There's always after NaNo! (Assuming there's life after NaNo. I've never done it, but from what I gather, it's intense.)

Jim would be like an even brainier Indiana Jones. God, that would be awesome.

I think he could save the world through English lit. He'd be everything like Mr. Keating in Dead Poets Society. It'd be glorious!

Plus, the "O Captain! My Captain!" moment would have a nice little connection back to Trek... and now I'm picturing Chekov standing on his desk... crap this needs to be written!

I'm totally missing my college days now. Come to think of it, one of my English professors (he taught Shakespeare and I think Milton) was - and still is, as far as I know - involved in raising awareness of the crisis in Darfur, so ... there's plenty of room for heroism in the department!

Professor Jim's classes would fill up within ... seconds.
