Last year, for my birthday, Charlie bought me a gorgeous gift box of an expensive champagne, with two beautiful crystal champagne goblets. It was months before I knew what to say. He also went out of his way to get half the company to sign a birthday card for me.
I never thanked him sufficiently for caring so much. Not on that, or any of the other occasions where he went out of his way to show me random, unexpected acts of kindness. And now my birthday is approaching again, and I desperately want to toast him with those glasses (which he meant for the two of us to use on one occasion or another, at some point -never happened), but FUCK if I can find the bloody things! I think they are at my father's girlfriend's house, where I used them to toast my father's 70th birthday in February. Gods, I hope so.
