the late night update
I'm waiting for laundry to finish and I don't want to read Keats right now (too tired to concentrate), so I figured I'd just post on here.
Last week was hell/math week, and this week shouldn't be nearly as bad. I hope I did OK on my math tests. Luckily, there's still plenty of time to make up any subpar performance on other tests (especially in Calc 3... the final is worth 45% of our grade!)
Right now, I am listening to Fozzy, which is a metal band that has a PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER as the lead singer (Chris Jericho for those interested). And... believe it or not, he's actually pretty damn good. I'm listening to a cover of a Dio song (Stand Up and Shout, you should listen, it's good) and although it's not quite as good as the original (mainly cause of tone and a bit of power I think), he does a pretty good rendition of it. He even launches into this ridiculous falsetto scream near the end, which is pretty metal for sure.
I am definitely looking forward to Opeth on Wednesday. It should be a great concert, and it's really close too. Since I've been here, I've been interested in going to shows, but I've only been to one because I haven't noticed a great deal of metal shows around. The one I've been to (Carbon Leaf) was definitely not metal in the slightest. :P
And... now I've switched to The Mars Volta. Pretty decent band. :]
My Quake clan had our match tonight, and we railed the other team. Good times. 2EZ yawn brb building an airplane etc
I need to listen to more Devin Townsend material before I go to the concert, so I hopefully recognize at least a few of the songs.
I have to write a 3-5 page paper for Tuesday as well as do more Math 81 homework. This... is not appealing to me. I can't wait til' next year when I can take fiction writing and... pursue what I actually want to pursue. There's a reason why Math is my secondary major. I like it but... writing is where it's at.
