A day in the life
Well, last week (Sunday) was my birthday. It was dull, uneventful, I didn't get any gifts. It's alright. I felt rather selfish for expecting something, really.
Yesterday at work was pretty dreadful, but after work was over, it started improving (as it usually does.) And to make up for my dull birthday last weekend, I was treated to dinner and a movie with a friend and co-worker (and her boyfriend.) It was great. I think my cheeks hurt from laughing so much.
We went to Lefty O'Doul's for dinner, and then got caught in the rain on our way to the movie, which was about 3 or 4 blocks away. I got wet, of course.. which is alright. I got told I looked beautiful, though not by a guy. Today, another co-worker treated me to lunch at "Hard Knocks". Delicious bacon cheeseburger, mashed potatoes, home-made style mac & cheese, and his housemate allowed me to sample his catfish, which was just yummy.
As a gift, my friend gave me an amethyst pendant that she spent 6 hours shopping for in Lake Tahoe. And from Mother Nature, I got my period, one week early. This is a blessing, I suppose. I won't have to deal with it next weekend, when I have to get my blood drawn for tests.
My throat hurts a little, but I'm actually feeling alright. Just a little tired. I had planned on archery and rapier practice tomorrow, but mother nature, auntie flow and dr. krampf have managed to put the kebosh on that. I will remain curled up in my bed with my friend the heating pad instead, and dream about weird things.
