So sick of being cold / Aaron offer

Monday last week, my heat died. Took them two days to get a temporary fix working (somehow they rigged the AC to blow heat instead, so I could only have heat in the daytime, I had to turn it off at night since it didn't click on and off on its own -- I had to turn it on and off by hand). They said it would take 2-3 WEEKS to order a new unit, but ( Read more... )

Yeah, I had to leave a message though. I sure do hope they fix it while I'm at work...

That's awful! :( Wish I could share the heat I have. Mostly because I haven't turned the heat on yet. Not even during the -30 we had a few days ago. My neighbors are trying to bake us I believe.

Wow! At least that saves you money, I guess? I always think my neighbors must thank me -- I'm on the ground floor, so all my heat goes up to them and I freeze. :/ They must save so much money!

I'm not sure it does, considering this apartment complex, but I'm hoping it does!

I'm on the second floor, and surrounded on all but one side. It's 18f right now, and I have the windows open. That's how bad it is. :P So please take my heat! I have the opposite problem you do.

Wow, that's crazy! Is the place really cold in the summer too? Or too warm then as well?

Oh damn - what a time for the heater to fail! Here in Germany, we can deduct an amount from the rent we pay for each day the heater is out. I don't know if you can do that overseas, but it might put some pressure on the landlord to get it fixed quickly.

I like that idea! I suspect we have nothing like that here though.

Let me know if the book amuses you!

Problem with electric/space heaters is that I can't leave them on overnight...
