Thanks so much for this honest review--it looked intriguing but not for an unreasonable price.

To be fair, I LOVED the first book. Stories about breaking someone's spirit and remaking them in some other way are some of my favorites, plus the whole slave thing works for me. Unfortunately each book got worse than the one before. By book five or six, I was snickering at serious dialog and scenes.

Plus it's an ongoing series. I assume it will never end, so long as people keep paying $3 per 30-40 pages... (That could be a good thing, if not for the $3 part.)

Yeah, the price is the biggest sticking point.
