Yoochun thinks he can write a soundtrack for this love affair. There are too many moods, too many moments - the possibilities are endless.
Yoochun hums to himself, a quiet melody that reminds him of lazy summer afternoons. He toys with the piano keys, smiling to himself.
(When Jaejoong forgets to act his age, Yunho takes it upon himself to be twice as mature and aim for damage control - a sulky rut solved with an absentminded hug and the promise of retaliation: Junsu will never know what hit him - secret grins exchanged.)
Yoochun hears the music in his head, so he stays sleepless, staff paper filled with scribbles and the makings of a secret masterpiece: sometimes it's convenient to have a direct line to Jaejoong's soul - it's easier to write the sound of his heartbeat that way.
This is why / I have my hands against the sky, / to keep you close / with secret smiles.
(When Yunho is ill, and Jaejoong doesn't bother to hide his annoyance - Would you please just stay in bed, for fucking once? - Yunho is chastised, and Jaejoong makes amends by staying up all night, seeing to Yunho as the fever burned, unintelligible soothing sounds, lips pressed against Yunho's forehead.)
Yoochun wakes up with a song swimming in his subconscious, a promise of something to come. He shakes his head, chuckling as he hears guitar riffs against steady beats, which suited Jaejoong's rockstar voice - rough and raw and baring the heart.
(Jaejoong is easily distracted, going off tangent during interviews. Yunho smiles, squeezes Jaejoong's knee, salvages the conversation by coming up with a witty response - later, Jaejoong returns the favor by distracting Yoochun enough to save Yunho the headache of dealing with Yoochun's rain cloud of a mood.)
The main beat differs for every piece of their OST, but Yoochun notes that there is an underbelly of warm smiles and comfortable silences (or the lack of those) common to every song. Yoochun thinks of autumn nights and snowy days - and how Yunho and Jaejoong stay constant.
In a whirlwind / spinning in this city of my heart, / you have me holding on, / keep me from breaking apart
(Yunho gets a little too obsessive with little details - schedules, lyrics, even that almost imperceptible flick of a finger in their latest choreography. Jaejoong laughs at Yunho's face - Whoa, slow down, cowboy - Yunho is confused for a splitsecond, and the next thing he knows, he and Jaejoong are all over each other, a laughing lump on the dance studio floor.)
Yoochun thinks of the symphonies hidden in a splitsecond. Sometimes the music eludes him, so he commits snapshots to memory - later, the song would find its way to Yoochun, wedged between cake and cigarette stubs. Another all-nighter, but Yoochun doesn't mind.
(Changmin plays a ballad on the piano, quiet notes and soft tones, and Jaejoong finds himself laying his head against Yunho's shoulder, Yunho reaching over to tuck a stray lock of hair that fell over Jaejoong's eyes.)
As Yoochun watches the sun rise, the compilation of songs caught under an empty coffee mug, he wonders how this will all play out: he looks forward to the day Yunho and Jaejoong finally realize what Yoochun hears: the steady beating of their hearts.
For this is all I know, / this is who I am; / my heart alive against the palm of your hand.
(Always.)
