fading_sun_sock's the broken road, written almost a month ago, but i forgot to post in my writing journal. as always, for kendra.
you know that he watches you, that he watches out for you. but you act like you don't know, like you don't see the worry swimming in his beautiful dark eyes, like you don't feel the fear he has in his heart for you.
you've done this forever, it seems, hiding the pain behind smiles and laughter and spotlights.
but then one day you break without warning - you don't even feel the tumble as your heart, your soul (your all) fell, all you know is that you are plummeting down to godknowswhere -
and then his eyes meet yours. no words were said, but you know (he promises) that he'll always be there to catch you - always more than willing to break your fall.
