Title: Anything But You
Characters/Pairing: Kyuhyun/Heechul, OT13-ish
Summary: Heechul tries to catch the youngest's attention and fails. Then Heechul decides to take matters into his own hands.
Author's Notes: First attempt at KyuChul, not exactly my OTP, but after seeing the KyuChul liplock in the 2007 MKMF, I figured Rella's actions needed an explanation. ^^v

Again, this is for
fading_sun_sock, just because. (Also because she is craving for KyuChul. :DDD)
Heechul loves attention. He wilts, withers, dehydrates, dies without it.
So every morning, he climbs into Siwon's bed for a quick cuddle, then Heechul heads to the kitchen to charm Hankyung and get an extra helping of breakfast, with a sleepy-eyed Siwon in tow, and Rella gives Hankyung a wink as Siwon watches the dancer closely.
On lazy afternoons, Heechul lets Sungmin play with his hair, and asks Ryeowook to tell him a story before they take a nap.
Later, Heechul finds his way back into the kitchen and aims his puppy-dog eyes at Yesung, asking to have the younger one's coffee. It doesn't always work (Yesung only gives in to another pair of puppy dog eyes, Heechul knows), but Yesung lets Heechul have a sip anyway, before the older smiles at Shindong to ask for a candy bar.
When Heechul is bored, he drags Eunhyuk and Kangin out to find something fun, something amusing to do. Eeteuk also comes with them once in a while, but the oldest prefers late-night ramblings with Heechul instead, and Heechul likes it best when they are out in the yard, watching the stars, while his hyung strokes his hair.
Often, Heechul "indulges" Kibum's hobby: photography. When Kibum needs a subject, Heechul is always agreeable, always ready for the camera. Sometimes, Heechul lets Donghae tell him about aliens and other things, because Donghae always lets him pick the DVD to watch on movie nights.
But Heechul finds it difficult to get Kyuhyun's attention: the youngest is often too quiet, just watching, when all the other boys are goofing off. But most times Heechul catches a mischievous glint in Kyuhyun's eyes, and Rella wonders just what will get this magnae's interest.
It's not that Kyuhyun ignores Heechul, but the youngest always is too aloof, too distant despite the smile he gives Heechul.
Heechul notices how Kyuhyun likes being dorky with Donghae, or Yesung, or Eunhyuk, or even Ryeowook; playful with Sungmin and Kangin and Shindong; soft and serious during little heart-to-heart talks with Siwon or Hankyung or Kibum; utterly sweet to Eeteuk.
With Heechul, Kyuhyun is pleasant, yet always cautious, always a step away: it's bordering on respectful and formal, and Heechul hates it.
Heechul hates it, so he fumes, stews, and sulks: Eeteuk notices the silent tantrums but doesn't ask; Heechul hates hates hates not having Kyuhyun's attention.
Heechul is still sulking over this fact, this deprivation: he is all smiles during MKMF 2007, never missing a beat, but Heechul is fuming inside.
The boys are onstage, with all the lights and cameras, Super Junior presenting themselves to the loving crowd before them. Heechul, stuck at the back, feels a bit better upon hearing the screams of the fans, the adulation and the wonderful, wonderful attention showered upon them.
Then Heechul notices the boy beside him, seemingly content with being at the sidelines, watching the people: Kyuhyun still doesn't pay attention to him.
In a surge of frustration and possessiveness, Heechul grabs Kyuhyun (but still careful enough not to hurt him, with the youngest's recent injuries and all), holds him ever so close. Heechul crushes his mouth against Kyuhyun's: the magnae's lips were soft and for the moment, his. Kyuhyun stiffens, then relaxes against Heechul's touch.
And Kyuhyun kisses him back, and they are unmindful of the lights and noise, and people and cameras. Kyuhyun kissed him back.
Heechul sees Kyuhyun's grin as they pull away from each other.
"Took you long enough, hyung," Kyuhyun smirks.
Heechul stared at him. Why you little...
Rella's mind shut up when Kyuhyun took his hand and finally waved to the crowd.
