ben folds
so, i like music. and it occured to me a while ago, i like music thats not so heavy. in fact i like music thats piano driven and even string driven.
so the other week i picked up ben folds five - whatever and ever amen. 10 years late but whatever. i have since downloaded pretty much everything the man was ever a part of. well, tried to anyway. soulseek kinda sucks. well, the people suck. the man can play piano, and he can write good fucking music, and thats the point here.
so while listening to "selfless, cold and composed" and other of his string and piano songs, i remember times where ive been flipping through channels on tv and stopped at PBS while they had a local symphony and actually watching and being entertained by that. and i remember about a year ago, trying to find modern composers, but not really finding any, and then giving up and getting into...powerviolence of all things. so now, as i realize i like all these traditional...? types of music, ive decided i would love to go sit down somewhere and watch someone play piano. or watch a small string arrangement. i also want to find some modern pianists, and composers. if anybody knows, of either modern composers/pianists or where i can go sit down and listen to some music, that would be rad.
in the meantime, google will be being used. and ben folds will be listened to. actually, im listening to the smashing pumpkins now.
