Dist was a creature of habit. He did things deliberately, and he was quite sensitive to changes in routine for himself and those around him. So, when Sephiroth went insane and Ema simply dropped off the map, rather than contacting him for a copious round of drinks and lamenting(as she usually did when things were going badly), he knew something was wrong. It was almost a little insulting; what was he, that she used him for comfort for minor problems but cast him aside when it really mattered? Hmph. Dist the Rose would not stand for such insults.
It was this line of thinking that put him in front of her door soon after the sun went down, pounding angrily on her door. He was fairly sure she was home; she wouldn't be in the labs, and she had nowhere else to go, unless she'd simply replaced him(which he would also not stand for).
