Some days Hojo really just did not feel like going in to the office. Usually when he was going to give someone a talking-to it was in a more official capacity, but he figured that this would serve his purposes just as well. His back was to her; he glanced over his shoulder when he heard the door open, and the light on his glasses obscured his eyes for a moment. "Ah, good, you're not late." He moved to the other side of the table so he was facing her; the body he was working on, ironically enough, was a young woman.

Ema closed the door behind herself and entered the morgue fully. "You told me eleven, so I was here at eleven." She turned to face him just in time to see the light glint off his glasses, which was always a somewhat unsettling sight. Hojo was somehow much more intimidating when you couldn't see his eyes.

Since Hojo was the man who told her to come (indirectly, but still), Ema kept her attention on him as he moved around the table to face her. He was cutting up a corpse, which was a bit unsettling but not completely unexpected. What caught her off-guard, however, was the body's sex and age: female, midtwenties. Ema's stomach sank; she had a bad feeling about this.

"You... you wanted to see me, Professor?"

"I did." Hojo turned his gaze back to the corpse he was working on; she didn't need eye contact for this discussion. "How thoroughly did you read the paperwork that you signed to become a part of this department?" He'd been about halfway through the autopsy when she'd shown up; he began pulling out a long rope of intestine so he could get at the kidneys underneath.

"I... read it." That was a relatively safe, non-incriminating answer. Ema had to be careful here, since she had no idea what Hojo was getting at. The sinking feeling was only getting worse.

On a surface level, Hojo messing around with someone's insides didn't bother her. It was purely biological, and Ema had seen it all before. However, the fact that the corpse bore a passing resemblance to herself made the whole situation more than a little off-putting.

"Hm." He didn't say anything for a few moments as he cut out one of the kidneys and began neatly slicing it apart. "Then you should know that anything that goes on in this department is confidential until either I say that it can be discussed with the general population or until the research has been published." He glanced up. "This goes double when it involves spilling secrets to someone who immediately turns around and posts about it on the network."
