Three variations, and still not sure I was able to get the image I wanted...

A thin film of ice
clings 'round dark water. A leaf
floats in reflection.

Still water reflects
While ice clings around the edge.
The bucket stands full.

One eye full of sky,
Pale ringed with cold ice and still.
One leaf floats within.
