December meme, Days 11 and 12

Dec 12, 2020 06:56

Busy yesterday, so I didn't come online. And because of the question for yesterday, I am going to post this before I catch-up on reading my flist. For some reason I don't think I'll be the only person who opts for the programme I've chosen.

Yesterday's question was: 11 If you could live in any TV show, which one would you choose?

Not much point in living in a documentary, I don't suppose. There are some wonderful and informative documentaries made, but by definition they do tend to concentrate on one theme and who would want to live in such an ultimately limited intellectual environment?

And I am not into reality TV, which from my uninformed perspective appears to have a tendency towards the frenetic.

I really wouldn't want to live in The News - that's all bad things happening, good news not being 'news-worthy'.

So on the face of it, that would appear to leave dramas. The trouble with most television dramas is that they are full of... well, drama. And hazard. And complicated and tortured human relationships. I wouldn't want to live like that either. I like the quiet life.

But thankfully, there is another, new sort of programme that doesn't appear to have a genre name.

If I could magically have the skills as well, I'd like to live in The Repair Shop. I don't think I'd want to replace any of the existing people in there, so I would need both a different skill and one that was in regular demand. Hmm.... No, drawing a blank. But that is where I would opt to be, if I had to choose.

12 What’s your favourite holiday cookie? (Post the recipe?)

This is an American question, isn't it? I think that what it's asking is, what is my favourite Christmas biscuit? I don't have one. My favourite Christmas treats are the traditional ones - proper, rich Christmas cake, Christmas pudding and mince pies. You can take your boring old biscuits away. It's Christmas!!!

The rest of the month's questions can be found under the cut on day 1's post.
