Social distancing, what that?

I just had to go and rescue my neighbour because she didn't know how to reset the circuit breaker on her mains electricity board. She thanked me with a pat of her hand on my shoulder as she followed me to the front door when I left.

And a young man came around to read my electric and gas meters. I suppose that might be considered essential by the power company, since it is probably the first time they can guarantee that all their customers are in to answer the door, but…

At the end of the Channel 4 news last night they showed a short montage of people with experience of isolation, including Terry Waite, a young man who worked through the Ebola crisis and a woman suffering from sickle cell disease (I didn't catch their names). I also didn't note down what they said at the time, but two things I remember:
1. You can't plan for the long-term, so take one day at a time and decide to live that day well.
And
2. At the moment denial transforms into acceptance... that is the moment you become free and find peace.

At 7pm last night I lit a candle and put in my front window.

No silly Corona related videos from work colleagues today.
