I do like the end of the month.
Ah - perhaps I should say that I like the end of the month once the bills are all settled. For a few days it feels like there's nothing to worry about, not really. The end of this month, particularly. It's Chinese New Year and there were parades in the street in the China District. The celebrations go on all night and when I walked past there were still lights in the paper lanterns and stalls set out on the streets.
I spent three dollars and bought a red and gold poster, I don't know what it says on it but the woman told me it was good luck for the year ahead. I also bought a small folded paper dragon on a stick, and have spent the last half an hour watching Mouse take great delight in tearing it to shreds. I wonder if she knows it's the Year of the Dog?
It will be Spring soon enough, won't it? Only another month or so of this snow, and then maybe the weather will begin to warm up. The days are already
getting longer.
