Friends, let me just say that you are super rad.
In this, the most scary time of my young life, you have all pulled through to make things much easier for me to get through, and for that I am eternally grateful.
I have seen more of Los Angeles in this past week than I have in the rest of the year I have lived here. Despite the fact that I have no camera, I have pictures to share because my photograph was taken several times by clubtype photographers. Observe:
I have been making a conscious effort to enjoy myself lately & so far it's working.
That said, things are not all lollipops and rainbows.
I am moving out of my house at the end of the week.
This makes me impossibly sad, but also hopeful for the future.
Pleaseplease everyone cross your fingers for me.
There is so much to do just to get through leaving, and so much uncertainty on the other side.
....But I think I'm ready for it.
I will be in San Francisco on Sunday. I don't know yet if I will stay there.
That said, if you live in Los Angeles....you should come to my Going Away/Birthday Party!
I am 25 years old on October 1st.
This is a new starting point for me & I'm taking it very seriously.
My outlook has been needing an overhaul for a long time & I'm taking every step I can on the path to loving myself and my life.
Today I read
Jack Terricloth's Circus Punk Protocols & it inspired me very much.
Check it out:
1. IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO GET CAUGHT.
2. establish rule, break rules.
3. Never give up the joke.
4. All borders are porous.
5. Better to judge a person by a mix tape than who they are sleeping with.
6. If you don't want to share your drugs you have a problem with drugs.
7. Love is real, unstoppable, self interested to the point of malice, not a domesticated creature, actually a wild animal, do not get between it and food.
8. Be friendly but suspicious of other circuses.
9. Trust your friends even if you can't trust your friends and even if maybe they aren't really your friends but you've already agreed to travel with them.
10. Be suspicious but friendly to elders.
11. It's all fair game.
12. Be generous to amateurs.
13. Your credentials are evident to your equals but when demanded take solace in that we are all guilty in the eyes of the law but superior to those who choose to live by it 'cause the government, the church, and the crazy vampire bat corporations may be authoritarian but god isn't and what we do is fine with him.
Thanks again for all the love & I'll be sure to update you all with the progress of this transition.
You are all amazing.
